HUNTSVILLE — The Huntsville Police Department is welcoming two new officers after the pair made it through the organization’s training academy.
“Today, we honor two individuals who have demonstrated the dedication, integrity and courage required to wear this badge,” Huntsville Police Chief Kirk Giles said. “Their journey to this moment was not easy, but their hard work and passion for public service are evident. They are joining an exceptional team and I look forward to seeing them grow in their careers.
“Joining our department is more than just a job – it’s a calling. If you’re ready to make a difference in our city, we encourage you to take the first step and apply to our academy.”

Mayor Tommy Battle congratulated the officers on the “significant milestone.”
“Huntsville’s future depends on brave men and women who answer the call to serve,” said Battle. “We are grateful for their dedication and proud of their commitment to safeguarding our city.”
The department has approximately 500 sworn officers and 200 civilian personnel.
Applications are now open for the 73rd session of the Huntsville Police Academy, which will begin training in 2025. Those interested are encouraged to apply before the deadline – Feb. 28 at 6 p.m.
