HUNTSVILLE — For anyone going out shopping on Black Friday, don’t forget the overcoats and mittens.

Yep, as you recover from Thursday’s feasting, get ready for some Friday frosting.

Along with showers in the area Wednesday and Thanksgiving, a front will bring significantly colder temperatures Friday with highs limited to the 40s through Sunday.

Brace for subfreezing lows Friday night through early next week. Wind chills could dip as low as the teens in some locations Sunday and Monday nights.

Meanwhile, Wednesday’s cold front could support the development of a few strong to severe storms. Damaging winds will be the most likely threat, with a lower risk for hail and tornadoes, the National Weather Service Huntsville office said.
