NORMAL — Louis Whitlow can remove the “interim” title from his position on the diamond at Alabama A&M.

The Bulldog alum is now the head baseball coach on The Hill, A&M Vice President and Director of Athletics Dr. Paul A. Bryant announced today.

“Coach Whitlow possesses all of the characteristics we were seeking to lead the Alabama A&M University baseball program,” Bryant said. “Those include coaching ability, passion, energy, program knowledge, character, integrity and his ties to Alabama A&M.”

Whitlow served as an interim head coach during the 2025 season after taking over the program in mid-October.

“I am extremely grateful to Dr. Bryant for his trust in my leadership,” Whitlow said. “My goal is to continue to make Bulldog Nation proud by bringing not just an excellence in standard in the classroom, but also on the baseball field.”

Whitlow brings more than 15 years of coaching experience at all levels and his 10-plus years in specialized team training include private coaching for hitting, pitching, fielding, and catcher training.

A Birmingham native, Whitlow graduated from Alabama A&M with a bachelor’s degree in communications and a minor in marketing. He received a dual master’s degree in management and human resources from Florida Institute of Technology, along with an international certification in personality studies.

Whitlow and his wife TIffany have three sons, Lamir, David, and baby Ace.
