NORMAL — Same song. Third verse.

And for Brian Howard, Alabama A&M’s Assistant AD for Athletic Communications, the sound is just as sweet.

For the third consecutive year, Black College Nines has selected the Bulldog as its Sports Information Director of the Year.

Howard was recognized for his coverage of the Alabama A&M baseball team by the website, which is dedicated to covering HBCU baseball nationwide.

This is the second year Howard received the honor representing Alabama A&M. In 2023, he received the accolade as the Assistant AD for Sports Communications at Norfolk State University.

Howard joined AAMU athletics in October 2023 from Norfolk State. Among his career highlights, his staff was recently named the Southwestern Athletic Conference Sports Information Department of the Year and chosen the chair of the Sports Information Directors for the second time, having previously served in that capacity during the fall of 2022.

In addition, he has been active as a member of the College Sports Communicators, serving on the Division I Cabinet for the past four years, the Advocacy Committee for the past year and as a member of Black College Sports Information Directors Association.

Howard has previously worked in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and three SWAC institutions.
