Alabama BASS Nation regional tournament drops anchor in Lake Wheeler

DECATUR – Some of the top anglers from the state will hit the water at Lake Wheeler this weekend for the Alabama B.A.S.S. Nation Regional Tournament

Set for Saturday, the event will bring together top high school, college, and junior anglers, all vying for a chance to advance to national competitions.

Spectators are welcome and there is no cost for admission.

The action kicks off with competitors departing from Ingalls Harbor at safe daylight. The first boats are expected to return for weigh-in at 3 p.m.

Anglers will weigh in their best five fish, while co-anglers will present three fish. This individual contest ensures fair play, with anglers competing only against other anglers, and co-anglers against co-anglers.

Along with the prize money, the winning angler and co-angler earn a coveted spot in the 2026 B.A.S.S. Nation National Championship at Lake Eufaula. From there, the top three anglers in the national championship can advance to the ultimate stage in bass fishing: the B.A.S.S. Masters Classic.
