All is merry-go-round and bright: Athens-Limestone Chamber crowns Christmas theme winner

ATHENS — With our 90-plus degree weather, it’s hardly beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

But, in Athens, the Christmas in Limestone County Committee is well on its way for the  most wonderful time of the year.

In fact, the panel has chosen “Christmas Carnival of Lights” for the theme of this year’s holiday festivities.

The other candidates after a communitywide vote were:

  • Christmas Past & Present
  • Christmas Movie Magic
  • Songs of the Season
  • A Disney Christmas

The yuletide season is heralded in Nov. 22 with the annual Christmas Open House with Merry Market vendors.

Then, Dec. 5, the Christmas Parade, presented by Bryant Bank, steps off.

For interested businesses, sponsorships are still available. For more information, call the Athens-Limestone Chamber at 256-232-2600.
