HUNTSVILLE – Bands, organizations and individuals will come together Saturday in downtown Huntsville for the 10th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration parade.

The Huntsville Police Department will assist with traffic control during the parade sponsored by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.

The parade will start at noon and end around 2 p.m. HPD officers will be stationed along the parade route to ensure the safety of participants and spectators, as well as to manage traffic flow in the surrounding areas.

To facilitate staging for the parade, the intersection of Holmes Avenue and Church Street will close at 8:30 a.m. Williams Street and Holmes Avenue, as well as Monroe, Church and Wood streets, will close at 11:30 a.m.

HPD urges drivers to exercise caution and remain patient while traveling near the parade route. Drivers should plan for potential delays and consider alternate routes to avoid the affected areas.
