Athens Fall Market heralds an end to the season

ATHENS – The Athens Farmers Market celebrates the final market of the season.

The annual Fall Market, which closes out the growing season, is 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.

“Fall Market is a perfect ending to a great market season,” said Market Manager Kat Greene. “The weather feels great, the kids have a blast trick or treating with the vendors, and it gives the community one more chance to support our vendors and purchase their wonderful products.

“Bring out the whole family for a fun and festive morning at the market!”

To help celebrate the occasion, Houston Ridge Bluegrass will be performing from 9-11 a.m.

The Athens Farmers Market is an Alabama Certified Farmers Market. This means that all produce is locally and naturally grown in North Alabama or the Tennessee Valley.

Prepared foods sold at the market are also locally made, as are the handcrafted goods from local artisans. There will be a variety of fall and holiday themed products available for purchase.

“After the Fall Market, we will begin the final phases of the market renovation,” Athens Main Street Executive Director Tere Richardson said. “Look for a beautiful transformation in the spring of 2024.”
