Be a ‘fur-ever home’: Petsense hosting Adopt-a-Thon dog adoption event

(City of Huntsville)

HUNTSVILLE — Fall means football and homecoming, and Huntsville Animal Services invites the community to a special homecoming “Adopt-a-Thon.”

The pop-up event is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Petsense, 2290 Zierdt Road.

“Events like this make it easy for our community to connect with dogs who are ready to love and be loved,” said Huntsville Animal Services Director John Fischer. “Pet adoption is a win-win for the pet and the new owner, and we’re excited to help these pets find the homes they deserve.”

The “Adopt-a-Thon” is part of a national annual event organized by Petsense and is designed to help shelter animals find their “fur-ever” home.

Animal Services staff will be on site and will accept cash or checks for adoption fees. Staff members will also assist with paperwork and answer questions about pet care and the adoption process.
