HUNTSVILLE – in a recognition that is more than deserved, Bill and Brenda Roark will be presented with the 2023 Community Philanthropy Award in a celebration next month.

The couple will be honored at the annual Summit on Philanthropy for their generous contributions to the Greater Huntsville community. The event will be Oct. 24 at the Von Braun Center.

This summit celebrates and inspires local generosity, including honoring the recipients of the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville’s Community Philanthropy Awards. The award is presented annually to honor an individual or family that exemplifies the spirit of generosity in our community.

“The 14th annual Summit on Philanthropy will celebrate and inspire local generosity, including honoring the previous recipients of the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville’s Community Philanthropy Awards, and inducting a new honoree to this guild of givers,” stated Chris Russell, founding chairperson of the Board of Directors for the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville. “This award is presented annually to recognize an individual or family that exemplifies the spirit of generosity in our community.

The Summit on Philanthropy is an opportunity to celebrate generosity – in all its various forms – and to recognize the leaders who have been instrumental in the success of the Community Foundation and the Greater Huntsville area.

Established in 2008, the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville brought together donors, nonprofit organizations, community groups, local government, and businesses to create new pathways of philanthropy.
