OMAHA, Neb. – Senior Mitchell Daly had two hits for Kentucky as the program made its debut in the College World Series over the weekend.

He might not remember the first knock.

Daly, who played at Bob Jones High School in Madison, pulled a two-strike pitch over the left-field wall for a solo home run to give the Wildcats a 5-4, 10th-inning walkoff win Saturday night over North Carolina State in the first game ever for the school at the CWS.

Kentucky advanced to take on Texas A&M today at 6 p.m. at Charles Schwab Stadiumin a winner’s bracket game.

UK now has set the school record for victories in a season with 46 and stands 46-14.

Nolan McCarthy had a two-run home run and Trey Pooser delivered 6.2 strong innings to keep the Cats in good position. Johnny Hummel earned the victory on the mound.
