GUNTERSVILLE — Brown’s Creek public boat ramp on Lake Guntersville will temporarily close this month, the Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources announced.

The ramp, off Alabama Highway 69 in Guntersville, will be closed for about three months for repairs and maintenance starting Sept. 23.

During the closure, a launching slab and an access pier will be installed. A reopening date will be announced when available.

This is a joint project of the Conservation Department and the City of Guntersville. Funding for the project was primarily provided through the Wildlife Restoration Program under the federal Pittman-Robertson Act. Additional funding was provided by the City of Guntersville and Innovate Alabama, a statewide public-private partnership focused on entrepreneurship, technology and innovation with a mission to help businesses grow roots in Alabama.

WFF operates 20 additional free public boat ramps on Guntersville Reservoir. For information and locations, visit www.outdooralabama.com/freshwater-boating-access or call the WFF Fisheries Section at 334-242-3471.
