HUNTSVILLE – The world is coming to Huntsville’s John Hunt Park this weekend.
The International Festival of North Alabama (iFest) 2025, a vibrant celebration of global cultures, is set for Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Jaycee Community Building, 2180 Airport Road.
Hosted by Huntsville’s Office of Multicultural Affairs, iFest is a free, family-friendly event open to everyone in the community.
Starting with a Parade of Nations, iFest features live traditional music, folk dance performances, fashion shows and martial arts.
In addition, attendees can taste dishes from around the world and enjoy an open-air market featuring crafts, regional goods and cultural merchandise.
Kids can also join in the fun with interactive and hands-on cultural activities, including receiving a passport that they can have stamped as they visit each country’s booth.
“Huntsville is home to residents from dozens upon dozens of nations, each contributing unique traditions, languages, foods and stories,” said Dr. Randy Barbour, the city’s director of Multicultural Affairs. “iFest is a powerful reminder that our city’s strength lies in the mosaic of cultures that call Huntsville home.”
This year, the festival welcomes Cameroon, Armenia, Portugal and Venezuela, joining more than 60 countries that have been represented at previous iFests.
Parking is free, and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the festivities.
