Chris Matl named HudsonAlpha CFO

HUNTSVILLE – The HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology recently named Chris Matl its chief financial officer.

“We’re excited to welcome Chris to the HudsonAlpha team,” said Dr. Neil Lamb, president of HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology. “We believe he will be an incredible asset to the Institute and we are glad to have him in Huntsville.”

Matl joins HudsonAlpha with more than 30 years of financial experience. He spent the last 25 years at Medtronic, with last nine years as CFO in the global medical device company’s Coronay/Renal Denervation Operating Unit and the past four years for its Aortic Business Unit.

Matl is a decorated former Marine including the Navy Achievement Medal with Combat “V” for his service during Operation Desert Storm.

A native of Fort Worth, Texas, he earned his undergraduate degree from Marquette University and a master’s in finance from Southern Methodist University.
