HUNTSVILLE – The deadline to cast absentee ballots in Huntsville’s District 1 runoff elections is approaching.
The election is Sept. 24 and here key deadlines:
- Sept. 19: The last day to vote in person by absentee in the City Clerk’s Office on the third floor of City Hall
- Sept. 23: The last day to hand-deliver absentee ballots by close of business and the deadline to request an emergency absentee ballot
The runoff election will determine representatives for District 1 City Council — incumbent Devyn Keith and challenger Michelle Watkins; and for the District 1 Huntsville City School Board — Chaundra M. Jones and Pat King.
The election results will be canvassed at noon Oct. 1. Newly elected officials will be sworn into office Nov. 4.
