SHEFFIELD – A familiar face is returning to territory she knows well as a mortgage originator for the Shoals area at Bank Independent.

Mallory Murphy brings more than a decade of experience in the mortgage industry back to her former employer. She served as a Mortgage Originator for the bank in the Athens market from 2013-19. After that, Murphy was a mortgage loan officer at another financial institution until rejoining Bank Independent.

“I am excited to be back at Bank Independent and serve homebuyers in the Shoals again,” said Murphy, who earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from Auburn University. “Bank Independent is a special place with a great culture and work environment. I look forward to helping borrowers navigate the mortgage process and find the right financing solutions to make their homeownership dreams a reality.”

Murphy will leverage her mortgage industry knowledge and passion for service to build relationships and create an exceptional home financing experience, the bank said in a news release.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Mallory back to the Bank Independent team,” said Amy Henry, senior vice president of mortgage lending. “Her depth of mortgage experience and familiarity with our products and culture will be invaluable assets for Shoals area customers looking to finance a home.”
