Former Decatur Schools employees arrested for credit card fraud

DECATUR — Two former employees with Decatur City Schools have been arrested on charges of fraudulent use of credit cards, Decatur police said.

Last month, police said representatives of Decatur City Schools filed a report concerning unauthorized transactions with gas cards assigned to Decatur City Schools that occurred from May 2021 to February.

During the investigation, Decatur police said Samuel Kieran Booker and Dy-Kerius Rushuan Allen allegedly had been using gas cards assigned to Decatur City Schools’ vehicles since May 2021.

Booker and Allen are former employees of Decatur City Schools, resigning in April 2021. The total amount of the reported unauthorized transactions was more than $40,000, police said.

Booker turned himself in March 8. He was arrested and charged with one count of fraudulent use of credit or debit card and booked into the Morgan County Jail on a $1,000 bond.

Allen turned himself into the Decatur Police Department on March 14. He was arrested and charged with two counts of fraudulent use of credit or debit card and booked into the Morgan County Jail on a $2,000 bond.

The case has been forwarded to the Morgan County District Attorney’s Office for the consideration of additional charges.
