“Over the past decade, we’ve worked hard to expand recreational opportunities across our city and the Stoner Park Skating Rink is a testament to that dedication,” said Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle. “This new and exciting venue will be cherished by families and skating enthusiasts for years to come.”

District 1 City Councilman Devyn Keith  spoke about the teamwork that made the rink a reality and the positive effect it will have on the community.

“This project is the result of collaboration between passionate local residents and City officials,” Keith said. “It reflects our commitment to enhancing recreational infrastructure that meets the diverse desires of our residents.”

The 85-foot-by-185-foot rink will be housed within a 19,000-square-foot, open-air pavilion on the site of the old tennis courts. The facility will be equipped with modern amenities, including restrooms and picnic areas.

The venue was designed by Nola | Van Peursem Architects.
