MONTGOMERY — To honor the state’s cattle industry and its families, the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association is celebrating the arrival of October Beef Month, a 61-year tradition.

“Each October, we have the opportunity to celebrate Alabama’s cattle industry and the hardworking families who bring beef to the table,” said ACA Executive Vice President Erin Beasley. “We encourage everyone to enjoy beef as part of their tailgates, fall festivals, and family gatherings this month.”

This year’s festivities will feature a strong digital and social media presence directing consumers to www.BeefItsWhatsForDinner.com, and promotional efforts at major events including Talladega Superspeedway, the Alabama National Fair, and Walk of Life.

At the heart of October Beef Month are the cattlemen across Alabama who take pride in sharing their story at the local level. From classroom visits through the Cowboys in the Classroom program to county chapter steak sandwich sales, media appearances, and beef promotions at fairs and community events, producers will be engaging with consumers across the state.

Cattle production is Alabama’s second-largest animal agriculture sector, with an estimated $2.5 billion economic impact and supporting more than 10,000 jobs statewide. October serves as a time to celebrate this success and shine a spotlight on the people and families who raise beef.
