Huntsville City Schools to offer free meals to children this summer

HUNTSVILLE — Huntsville City Schools, in conjunction with the Alabama Department of Education, will begin its annual Summer Food Service Program next month.

The program will operate Monday through Thursday, June 2-26. Breakfast will be served from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and lunch will be served from 10:30–11:30 a.m.

The program will operate during summer learning activities at the following schools:

James Dawson Elementary
Farley Elementary
Montview Elementary
Morris Elementary/Middle
Rolling HIlls Elementary
Sonnie Hereford Elementary
Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary
Whitesburg Elementary/Middle

The Richard Showers Recreation Center will serve lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Brahan Springs Splash Pad will serve lunch from 1-1:45 p.m.

At all summer learning school sites breakfast will be served from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and lunch will be served from 10:30–11:30 a.m.
