MADISON – There are days when you wake up with a pain in the neck.

And it’s an actual neck pain – not someone else.

Now, folks who wake up with back or neck pain can make an appointment that day to treat the problem.

Huntsville Hospital Spine & Neuro has opened a clinic in Madison and offers same-day appointments. The clinic serves patients in fast-growing western Madison County as well as the Athens, Decatur and Shoals areas.

The clinic on the Madison Hospital campus offers personalized treatment options for back and neck pain, carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel syndrome, herniated discs, bone spurs, spinal fractures, stenosis, and traumatic brain injuries.

Patients with spine issues can call to make same-day appointments with the clinic’s physician assistants. Board-certified neurosurgeon Dr. Thomas Ostergard will see patients at Spine & Neuro Madison starting next month. There are plans to add physical medicine and rehabilitation services this summer.

Patients at the Madison clinic who are referred for surgery would have their procedures performed at Huntsville Hospital.

The clinic is on the third floor (Suite 350) of the Madison Medical I building on Balch Road. The hours are 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Patients can schedule an appointment by calling 256-533-1600.
