Huntsville police to graduate 14 academy cadets

HUNTSVILLE – Huntsville Fire & Rescue saluted its latest Cadet Academy class last week, and now the police invite the public to attend the 70th Session Academy Graduation.

Members of the Huntsville Police Department and invitees will gather at the Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering on Friday for a 10 a.m. ceremony. The featured keynote speaker will be Johnnie Sharp Jr., assistant director of the IT Infrastructure Division at the Federal Bureau Investigation’s campus in Huntsville.

HPD employs more than 400 sworn officers who serve the community. Officers come from diverse backgrounds, education and experience, reflecting the department’s commitment to inclusivity and community representation.

The 14 cadets who completed the department’s rigorous 19-week Academy will start field training next week.
