The public is invited to join transit operators as they practice all service routes from the new Transit Center at 521 Pratt Avenue before its opening Sept. 3.

“This is an excellent opportunity for passengers to familiarize themselves with the new facility, the significant changes planned for routes 2, 5, and 6 and new route 56 to Bailey Cove, serving locations in South Huntsville,” Director of Parking and Public Transit Quisha Bryant said.

Huntsville Transit recommends riders come to the new Transit Center this Sunday or Aug. 25, take a round trip to familiarize themselves with the routes and return to the Transit Center by 4 p.m.

In addition to the practice sessions in August, all rides with Huntsville Transit will be free in September to celebrate the Transit Center opening.

“We encourage everyone to experience the convenience of the new routing and state-of-the-art transit center,” Mayor Tommy Battle said.
