Huntsville’s Invariant and California company awarded $400M counter-UAS contract

QUANTICO, Va. — East meets West or rather, in this case, Southeast meets West for an anti-drone system contract with the U.S. Marine Corps.

Huntsville-based Invariant and Anduril Federal of Costa Mesa, Calif., were awarded a combined $400 million contract by the Marine Corps Systems Command in Quantico, Va.

The firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract is for the integration and delivery of a Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System Engagement System and associated hardware, software, and services.

Each awardee will be awarded its first order for First Article Test units and Program Management Support within one week of contract award. Work will be performed in Huntsville and Costa Mesa, Califo., and is expected to be completed by October 2031.

Fiscal 2024 research, development, test and evaluation (Marine Corps) funds in the amount of $15,459,308 will be obligated within one week of contract award and will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

The maximum dollar value, including the base period with four additional ordering periods, is $200 million per contract.
