Low to medium chances of severe storms tonight and Sunday across region

HUNTSVILLE — Residents in North Alabama and Southern Middle Tennessee are urged to be prepared for possible severe weather tonight and through Sunday morning.

According to the National Weather Service Huntsville office, there will be multiple rounds of rain and thunderstorms happening tonight through Sunday morning. And, the forecasters said, there is a likelihood for storms before tonight and Sunday afternoon

Rainfall totals of two to three inches are expected, with a low chance of locally higher totals of four to six inches.

There will be non-thunderstorm wind gusts to 25-35 mph from the south-southeast.

Meanwhile, high temperatures will be in the low to mid-60s through the weekend with overnight lows in the mid-50s to upper 40s.
