National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency hosts conference in Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE – The inaugural Geospatial Advantage Conference & Career Fair makes its debut Tuesday in the Rocket City.

Entitled, “Why Where Matters,” the event at the Jackson Center features a stellar lineup of key industry leaders. Seating is limited but registration is still open by clicking here.

Hosted by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and GeoHuntsville, the conference is a significant event in Huntsville’s profile as a major contributor in space, defense and technology-related industries.

NGA is a federal agency specializing in world-class geospatial intelligence, and this event will bring government agencies, non-profit organizations, academia and industry together to engage in discussions on growing the geospatial ecosystem in Huntsville.

NGA’s Source Deputy Director Shelby Pierson will provide the opening keynote at the conference.

The master of ceremonies for the event will be Intelligence and National Security Alliance President Suzanne Heckenberg.

Discussions will revolve around leveraging commercial data and imagery; the future of artificial intelligence; engaging in geospatial learning inside and outside the classroom; and fostering a geospatial ecosystem.

Speakers include experts from the National Reconnaissance Office, Defense Intelligence Agency, FBI, NASA, Army Space & Missile Defense Command, GeoHuntsville, Intelligence and the National Security Alliance.

Mayor Tommy Battle will give closing remarks and will participate in a panel discussion at the close of the conference.

“This conference is a significant event in Huntsville’s elevated profile as a major contributor in space, defense and technology-related industries,” he said.

GeoHuntsville is inviting area colleges to participate in the career fair: Alabama A&M University, the University of Alabama in Huntsville, the University of North Alabama, Oakwood University, and Drake State Community and Technical College.
