North Memorial Parkway lane closures planned for Northern Bypass construction

HUNTSVILLE — Motorists on North Memorial Parkway will face traffic slowdowns starting Monday morning near the Bob Wade Lane intersection due to work on the Northern Bypass.

“Weather permitting, single-lane closures northbound on North Memorial Parkway near Bob Wade Lane will begin Monday at 9 a.m. as part of the Huntsville Northern Bypass project,” according to a statement from the city. “Closures both northbound and southbound will affect outside lanes during non-peak hours over the next six months.”

Motorists are advised to drive with caution in the work zone. For real-time traffic conditions, visit ALGOTraffic.com.

The city-led Huntsville Northern Bypass project includes both city and state funding. The bypass and another project on North Memorial Parkway, the state-led construction of an overpass at Mastin Lake Road, were advanced through a joint-funding agreement between ALDOT and the City of Huntsville.
