Path to AHSAA cross country championships runs through Oakville Indian Mounds Park

DANVILLE – The best of the best high school runners in Alabama will be off to the races this weekend in Oakville Indian Mounds Park.

The 2025 AHSAA Boys and Girls State Cross Country Championships are hosted by Decatur-Morgan County Tourism at the historic park in Danville.

Saturday’s races will bring together 2,000 competitors and an estimated 1,000 spectators. All races are 5,000 meters (3.1 miles).

Race schedule

  • 8:30 a.m. – Girls 1A/2A girls
  • 8:50 a.m. – Boys 7A
  • 9:10 a.m. – Girls 4A
  • 9:30 a.m. – Boys 1A/2A
  • 9:50 a.m. – Girls 7A
  • 10:10 a.m. – Boys 4A
  • 10:30 a.m. – Girls 6A
  • 10:50 a.m. – Boys 3A
  • 11:10 a.m. – Girls 5A
  • 11:30 a.m. – Boys 6A
  • 11:50 a.m. – Girls 3A
  • 12:15 p.m. – Boys 5A

The top 15 individual finishers per classification will receive medals; trophies will be awarded to the state champion and runnerup teams.
