HUNTSVILLE — Here comes that rainy day feeling again.

The rain isn’t coming today but forecasters predict a heavy dose of precipitation over the next two to three days across the Tennessee Valley.

According to the National Weather Service, there is a slight risk of heavy rainfall Tuesday and Wednesday with several rounds of rainfall expected.

The forecasters are calling for about 3.5 to 5.5 inches across North Alabama from Tuesday through Thursday, with isolated amounts up to 7 inches.

Rivers, creeks, and streams are expected to rise, as a result.

“We have higher confidence of heavy rain and ponding water/localized flooding in areas of poor drainage,” forecaster said. However, there is a low chance of flash flooding.
