HUNTSVILLE — A lot of history has been made at Redstone Arsenal since its inception more than 80 years ago.

And Thursday, another chapter will be written in the history book when Col. Erin Eike assumes command of the garrison at the post.

Eike will be the first female garrison commander when she succeeds Col. Brian Cozine in a Change of Command ceremony at the Bob Jones Auditorium on Redstone Arsenal.

In her new role, Eike will oversee support services for more than 65 tenant organizations that include the four-star Army Materiel Command, NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, the FBI and other federal and DOD agencies that operate from the installation.

Prior to her assignment at Redstone Arsenal, Eike, a native of Minnesota, served at the Pentagon as the chief of the Requirements Division in the J6 Command, Control, Communications and Computers Cyber.
