HUNTSVILLE – In a week, some commuters to Redstone Arsenal will need to change their driving route.

Redstone Arsenal will close Gate 8 on Goss Road to traffic beginning June 30, post officials announced.

In a news release, officials said the adjustment follows a comprehensive assessment of current security measures, operational needs, and available resources.

Access to Redstone Arsenal will remain available during the work week through Gates 1, 3, 7, 9, and 10.

Gates 8 and 9 will continue to be open on weekends.

Updated gate information will be available on the My Army Post App (MAPA) and through official Redstone Arsenal social media channels.
