FLORENCE — Motorists on the busiest thoroughfare in Florence will face lane closures over the next several days.

Cox Creek Parkway will undergo a resurfacing project starting Sunday night, the Alabama Department of Transportation announced.

In the $1.4 million project, contractor Rogers Group will mill and resurface more than two miles of the corridor from U.S. 72/Florence Boulevard to Helton Drive.

Initial work will include milling at intersections, installing signal detection loops, and patching.

ALDOT advises motorists to expect lane closures from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly, Sunday nights through Thursday nights. Please expect delays and remain aware of the potential for disruptions to signal operations.
