MARSHALL COUNTY — A 15-year-old girl died Thursday from her injuries in a car wreck Wednesday near Albertville.

A 13-year-old girl was also killed in the crash, according to the Marshall County Coroner’s Office.

The driver of the vehicle and an additional passenger, both teenagers also, were taken to a local hospital.

“It is with a heavy heart that I share an update about the recent car accident involving four of our students,” Albertville City Schools Superintendent Bart Reeves said Thursday. “This evening, we received the devastating news that a second student has passed away from their injuries. Our entire school community is grieving this loss, and our thoughts are with the families of both students we have lost, as well as with those who are still recovering. This is an incredibly difficult time for so many, and we want to remind everyone that no one has to go through it alone.

“Let’s continue to keep these families and one another in our prayers as we navigate this together.”

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is working the case.
