Shine on: Campaign signs, banners light up UNA, community

FLORENCE – Almost one year into the public phase of the Shine On, Gold comprehensive  campaign, signs and banners have been placed throughout the University of North Alabama campus and along Court Street in downtown Florence.

The campaign’s goal is to raise $100 million for UNA.

“I am amazed by the vision and overwhelming generosity of our alumni and friends in the Shoals  community,” said Kevin Haslam, vice president for University Advancement and executive director of the UNA Foundation. “Because of these special people, we are accomplishing transformational things that will impact North Alabama for generations.

“These signs and banners help us all remember that this is a special time at UNA and that every gift and every giver matters. It is our time to shine.”

Shine On, Gold launched last September during the UNA Homecoming celebration. The ambitious goal is historic in nature and includes a number of priorities, including a Music Performance Center, Bank Independent Stadium, the 1830 Fund, the Presidential Scholars Program, student scholarships, and donor-directed purposes.

The signs and banners are on the lightposts in downtown Florence as well as lightposts on  campus, Collier Library and Cramer Way. They include the website with ways to give to the campaign.
