HUNTSVILLE — The inaugural Johnny Henderson Memorial Golf Tournament is set for next month to honor the late Thompson Gray manager.

The tournament will benefit a college education for Henderson’s children, Carter and Cason. Tee off is May 11 at the Colonial Golf Course in Meridianville.

Henderson, a program manager at Thompson Gray, unexpectedly died in 2021. The tournament was established to honor his legacy and the continued impact he has on the company, a government contractor headquartered in Huntsville.

“Johnny was an integral part of our team and the Thompson Gray family,” said Thompson Gray Senior Vice President Lyndsey Shelton. “He was a well-respected employee that was known for his character, integrity, and kindness.

“His family is our family, and with this event, we can continue to remember his impact while providing financial resources for his children’s future education.”

Tickets are $50 per person and includes a golf cart; non-players are $18. Mulligans are available for $5 each or three for $10.

Prizes will be awarded for the longest drive, closest to pin, hole-in-one, and to the top three winning teams.
