WASHINGTON – Saluting the achievements and patriotic ambitions of area high school seniors, U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville announced his nomination of 19 students to the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy and U.S. Naval Academy as part of the class of 2029.

This is Tuberville’s first round of nominations since being named chairman of the Subcommittee on Personnel for the Senate Armed Services Committee, where he is positioned to help bolster military recruiting and retention.

“Our young people are the number one commodity we have in this country, and Alabama is home to the best and brightest,” said Tuberville (R-Auburn). “I’m proud to represent a state with so many patriotic young leaders who want to serve in our nation’s military. It’s an honor to nominate … these students for a service academy appointment.

“I have no doubt they will continue to make our state and country proud.”
