TVA hosting open house on Integrated Resource Plan, Environmental Impact Statement

HUNTSVILLE — Residents across the Tennessee Valley are invited to share their voices about the TVA’s plans for its energy system through 2050.

The TVA is hosting an open house Tuesday on its 2025 Integrated Resource Plan and draft Environmental Impact Statement.

The open house is at Calhoun Community College’s Huntsville campus at 102 Wynn Drive in Room 1133 of the Math Science Computer Building. View a map here. For those unable to attend, comments may be submitted by Nov. 26.

TVA released the draft Integrated Resource Plan in September. The drafts are the result of months of rigorous planning and analysis and active engagement with stakeholders and the public to evaluate how TVA can continue to provide affordable, reliable, resilient and increasingly cleaner energy for decades to come, the TVA said.

Comments may be submitted online, emailed to [email protected] with the subject line “Draft 2025 IRP Comments,” submitted on a comment form at an in-person Open House, or mailed to Kelly Baxter, NEPA Project Manager, Tennessee Valley Authority, 400 W. Summit Hill Drive, WT 11B, Knoxville TN 37902

“The Valley faces important decisions as we tackle challenges such as shifting environmental policies and conflicting political priorities to new and expensive generation technologies,” said Wes Kelley, president and CEO of Huntsville Utilities. “The stakes are high, so we need to get this right.”
