HUNTSVILLE — Riding a 15-game winning streak, the University of Alabama in Huntsville men’s basketball team is ranked fifth in the nation in this week’s National Association of Basketball Coaches NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Rankings.

It’s the Chargers’ highest ranking since being named preseason No. 5 for the 2016-17 season. This is also the ninth straight week UAH has been in the top 25.

The Chargers, 15-1 after a season-opening 105-104 overtime loss to No. 3 ranked Nova Southeastern, have the nation’s second-highest field goal percentage (52.5%) and ninth-best three-point percentage (39.55%).

UAH (10-0 Gulf South Conference) returns to action Saturday when West Alabama visits Spragins Hall for a 4 p.m. Gulf South Conference matchup. The Chargers will also be celebrating Military Appreciation Day, presented by AUSA and Radiance Technologies.
