HUNTSVILLE — Inspired by the new PBS documentary “Caregiving,” the University of Alabama in Huntsville is hosting a panel discussion next week on caregiving resources in the community.
The film, produced in collaboration with Academy Award-winning actor Bradley Cooper, highlights his personal experience caring for his father as well as many similar stories of caregiving challenges and triumphs that happen every day in every community.
The “Caregiving” Conversation at UAH is Tuesday at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. The registration deadline is Monday. Sign up online at UAH RAN, or call 256-824-5700 and leave a message.
The program at UAH’s Charger Union Theater will feature six short video clips from the more than 200 hours of videos that were collected for the project but not included in the final film. There will be five short presentations from area agencies that support caregivers as well as a question-and answer session at the conclusion.
Along with speakers from UAH Regional Autism Network and the UAH Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education, the panel includes representatives from Alabama Lifespan Respite, TARCOG/Alabama Cares and United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of Huntsville & Tennessee Valley Inc.
