FLORENCE – The University of North Alabama is, once again, hosting the Mane Event, a  thrilling two-day Esports tournament featuring Mario Kart 8, Rocket League, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

The Mane Event is set for Friday and Saturday in the Guillot University Center on the UNA campus.

“This event promises to be an incredible experience, bringing together high school Esports  enthusiasts for exciting competition, entertainment, and a glimpse into the UNA campus,” said Mark Linder, UNA Esports team advisor and a lecturer in sport and recreation management.

The competition features 16 teams from area high schools, and participants will take the stage in front of a stadium audience, creating an electric atmosphere. Professional casters will also be on hand to provide live commentary on the matches, enhancing the excitement and upping the engagement through the event.

All matches will be livestreamed on Twitch. There is no charge for admission to the Mane Event.
