What’s all that racquet? It’s pickleball for a cause

MUSCLE SHOALS – Love pickleball? Muscle Shoals Recreation has a great “dill” for you.

The inaugural Robert Eaton Memorial Round Robin Social is scheduled for Saturday. Players get a full day of indoor matchups and a swag bag for only $30.

Registration ends today. All proceeds from this event benefit Shoals CASA, an organization that supports court-appointed special advocates for abused and neglected children in the Shoals area.

Robert Eaton, who died last September, was a beloved community member who had a passion for pickleball. His company, Robert Eaton Builders, constructed more than 300 homes in the Shoals area over the past 41 years. Eaton’s family continues his work.

In the pickleball round robin, each player is guaranteed at least five games and will be assigned to a round based on skill level and the number of players.

Registrations are for individuals only, not teams. All players will receive a swag bag and the gold, silver, and bronze players will earn medals. Everyone, regardless of skill level, is invited to participate.

There will be a silent auction throughout the day. For information, email Shoals CASA at [email protected].

  • Where: Gattman Park Recreation Center in Muscle Shoals (all courts are indoors)
